Ben Laski - Entertainment & Intellectual Property - Of Counsel
Ben Laski’s entertainment law practice focuses on all aspects of the entertainment industry, including intellectual property (trademarks and copyrights), media, music, television, technology, motion pictures, and startups. Ben is also a tenured professor at Boston University’s Los Angeles campus.
From 1996 to 2003, Ben advised and counseled various clients in the entertainment industry at the law firms of Baker & Hostetler, LLP, Keats McFarland & Wilson, LLP, and Alschuler Grossman Stein and Kahan, LLP.
Ben specializes in entertainment and intellectual property law for all sizes and types of clients–from individuals to startups to small and large companies. Ben represents music, motion picture, television, technology, internet, new media, digital, fitness, startup, and entrepreneur clients from around the world where he provides services, such as drafting and negotiating of agreements, strategies and registrations of trademarks and copyrights, and general advice and strategy, brokering of deals, and more.
On the business development and consulting side, Ben focuses on developing business opportunities, consulting, and obtaining deals for various companies, including innovative startups through his business expertise and relationships with companies such as Sony, Universal, CAA, IMG, MTV, Fox, Live Nation, ABC, CBS, premier advertising agencies, talent agencies, and many others. Recent campaigns generated by Ben include, an interactive video for the TV show “New Girl” on Fox, and various campaigns for Avril Lavigne, One Direction, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, Michael Buble, Evanescence, Colbie Caillat, Gavin DeGraw, Big Time Rush, Victoria Justice, and many more.
Ben obtained a B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He received his J.D., Honors in Intellectual Property Concentration, from Boston University School of Law and his M.S., with honors, in Mass Communications from Boston University.
