WHY HIRE US VERSUS A CALIFORNIA REAL ESTATE AGENT
In California unlike other states, you are not required to use both a real estate attorney and a real estate agent for the sale or purchase of real property. Real estate agents can perform both marketing and transactional work. The difference is this: advice.
A real estate agent cannot provide legal counsel to a client. When legal questions arise, and they often do, an agent cannot advise you on the matter. As a result, if you hire a real estate agent first, you will then have to hire a real estate lawyer. There may be questions on easements, taxes, and newly enacted laws. A real estate agent or broker cannot answer these questions unless they are also an attorney.
There are more reasons to hire a real estate lawyer over an agent, and why to hire us specifically. First, we have no personal interest in what happens with a real estate transaction––we only care about what happens for our client.
